Chimanimani Mountains

Eastern highlands with montane forest, rocky peaks, and cool climate; a hiking and walking destination.

The Chimanimani Mountains form part of Zimbabwe's eastern border with Mozambique. The range offers excellent hiking and walking opportunities with trails through montane forest, rocky peaks, and clear highland air. The Chimanimani National Park protects the range; guides are available for various difficulty levels. The area is significantly less visited than western attractions, offering solitude and pristine nature. Accommodation is limited; most visitors base themselves in nearby towns (Chipinge, Chirumhanzu).
