The Grand Marche sprawls across central Bamako, a maze of stalls selling cloth, masks, sculptures, jewelry, and food. Haggling is expected. The market is crowded and chaotic but represents Bamako's commercial energy and offer great opportunities to buy traditional crafts. Go early morning before crowds peak. Be aware of pickpockets.
