Vezo Fishing Villages

Traditional fishing communities along the southwest coast, little changed for centuries.

Villages like Andavadoaka and Betania preserve Vezo maritime culture. Outrigger canoes depart daily at dawn. Snorkeling in nearby reefs is excellent and uncrowded. Homestays offer immersion in village life; meals center on fish and rice. The pace is deliberately slow and the coast is largely untouched by mass tourism.
