Isalo National Park

Dramatic sandstone canyons, natural swimming pools, and lemur-filled wilderness in the south-central highlands.

This 81,540-hectare park combines geological drama with surprising biodiversity. Canyons carved by seasonal streams create natural swimming holes and grottos. Ring-tailed lemurs and other species roam the plateau. Trails are well-marked; camping and basic accommodation are available in Ranohira village. A 3-4 day visit allows for multiple canyons and a plateau walk.
