South Luangwa National Park

Premier game reserve renowned for walking safaris, diverse wildlife, and Zambezi riverine ecosystems.

South Luangwa National Park encompasses 9,050 square kilometers of pristine wilderness. The park is famous for pioneering the walking safari tradition; most game viewing is on foot rather than from vehicles, allowing intimate wildlife encounters. The Luangwa River supports dense wildlife concentrations including hippopotamus, crocodiles, buffalo, and lions. The dry season (June-September) concentrates wildlife at water sources, maximizing sighting chances. The park is less crowded than famous reserves in East or Southern Africa, offering a more exclusive experience. Birdlife is exceptional year-round.
