Lower Zambezi National Park
Riverine reserve along the Zambezi River with boat safaris, walking trails, and concentrated wildlife viewing.
Lower Zambezi National Park spans 4,092 square kilometers along the Zambia-Zimbabwe border. The Zambezi River is central to the ecosystem; game drives alternate with boat safaris. Wildlife viewing is excellent, particularly during dry season when animals concentrate at water sources. The park combines the walking safari tradition with riverine ecology. Accommodation is limited and relatively expensive; the park attracts fewer visitors than South Luangwa.
