Queen Elizabeth National Park

Large savanna reserve with diverse wildlife, crater lakes, and the Kazinga Channel offering boat safaris and birding.

Queen Elizabeth National Park encompasses 1,978 square kilometers of savanna, woodland, and wetlands in western Uganda. The Kazinga Channel connects Lakes George and Edward; boat safaris reveal hippos, crocodiles, and diverse birdlife (the region is a birder's paradise). Game drives in the park reveal buffalo, antelope, and occasional predators. The park is less crowded than East African counterparts, offering a more intimate safari experience. Crater lakes dot the landscape; some are accessible for hikes.
