Gola Forest Rainforest

One of West Africa's oldest and most biodiverse rainforests with endemic species.

Gola Forest Reserve, in southeastern Sierra Leone near Kailahun, is a pristine rainforest with chimpanzees, forest elephants, and rare bird species. Access is by 4x4 and usually arranged through conservation organizations or eco-lodges. The experience is remote, immersive, and wildlife-rich. Allow 2-3 days.
