Nyungwe Forest National Park

Ancient rainforest protecting rare primates and canopy walks suspended high above the forest floor.

This 970 sq km forest is one of Africa's oldest and protects 1,000+ tree species and 13 primate species. Canopy walks on suspended bridges (50m high) offer a unique perspective. Primate tracking (including chimpanzees) is possible. Trails range from easy to challenging. The forest is misty and cool year-round.
