Ile-Ife is the spiritual center of Yoruba civilization. The palace houses royal regalia and displays some of the world's finest terracotta heads (1200-1800 CE). The ooni (king) still resides here. Respectful behavior is essential. Entry fee is modest; a guide is worthwhile.
