Leptis Magna Roman Ruins
World-class Greco-Roman city with theater, forum, and seaside monuments; exceptionally preserved.
Leptis Magna (100 km east of Tripoli) is one of the finest Roman cities preserved outside Italy. Columns still stand, mosaics adorn floors, and a grand theater overlooks the Mediterranean. Built under the Severan dynasty, the city reflects wealth and cosmopolitan culture. Currently difficult to access due to security concerns; visit only if organized through licensed operators.
