Sapo National Park

Primary rainforest reserve in southeastern Liberia, home to forest elephants and rare wildlife.

Sapo is Liberia's only national park and protects some of West Africa's last pristine rainforest. The park harbors forest elephants, chimpanzees, and rare birds. Access is difficult and requires guides. The park headquarters are in Greenville; arrange visits through conservation organizations or hotels in Monrovia. The rainforest is dense, wet, and biodiverse.
