Serengeti National Park
East Africa's flagship wildlife reserve, famous for the annual wildebeest migration and vast concentrations of predators and prey.
The Serengeti encompasses 14,750 square kilometers of savanna grassland with the world's largest terrestrial mammal migration. Millions of wildebeest and zebras move seasonally following rainfall and grass availability; this movement is one of Earth's greatest natural spectacles. The ecosystem supports lions, leopards, cheetahs, and African wild dogs. Morning game drives and night drives reveal the full predator-prey dynamics. The park is best visited June-October during the northern migration crossing of the Grumeti River, or November-May when wildebeest concentrate in the southern plains.
