Sine-Saloum Delta & Mangrove Waterways
Intricate waterways, mangrove ecosystems, and fishing villages in a serene delta landscape.
Sine-Saloum, between Kaolack and Tambacounda, is a vast network of tidal channels, mangrove, and small islands. Pirogues (wooden boats) are the primary transport. Fishing villages and traditional Serer settlements populate the islands. Birdwatching is excellent. Tourism is low-key; visits are slow, contemplative, and atmospheric.
