Pamplemousses Botanical Gardens
Historic 9-hectare gardens with giant water lilies, tropical plants, and towering palms in the north-central island.
Established in 1735, these gardens showcase tropical and subtropical flora from around the world. Giant Victoria amazonica water lilies are the signature feature. Walking trails wind through plant collections. A guide can deepen the experience. It is a peaceful retreat near the capital.
