Masai Mara National Reserve

Africa's most famous safari destination with abundant wildlife, annual wildebeest migration, and iconic acacia savanna.

The Mara is a 1,500 square kilometer reserve in southwestern Kenya, continuous with Tanzania's Serengeti. Wildlife is exceptional year-round: lions, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and hundreds of bird species. The annual wildebeest migration (July-September) sees hundreds of thousands of animals crossing the Mara River. Safari experiences range from budget camping to luxury lodges. Game drives are conducted by experienced guides. The landscape is quintessential African savanna with acacia trees. Cultural visits to Maasai villages can be arranged.
