National Park Joao Paulo II (Cantanhez)

Protected rainforest park with chimpanzees, monkeys, and dense vegetation in southern Guinea-Bissau.

Cantanhez National Park preserves primary rainforest in the south and is home to chimpanzees, spot-necked otters, and rare birds. Access is difficult and guides are essential. The park is managed by conservation organizations and visits should be arranged in advance. The forest is dense, humid, and challenging to navigate but reward is pristine nature.
