Bissau Waterfront (Porto de Peixe)
Lively fishing port and market area in the capital, center of daily life and commerce.
The waterfront of Bissau is a constant hive of activity: fishing boats arriving with the catch, merchants selling fish, children playing. The Porto de Peixe (fish market) is a sensory experience. Early morning is best for seeing the boats and bustling activity. Photography should be done respectfully; many fishermen prefer not to be photographed.
