Kumasi & Manhyia Palace Museum
Ghana's cultural capital and former seat of the Asante Confederacy. The museum houses royal regalia, cultural artifacts, and explains Asante history and governance.
Kumasi is home to the Asantehemaa (Asante King) and the royal court. The Manhyia Palace Museum is a modern museum built adjacent to the royal palace, displaying the Asante Golden Stool (symbol of power), royal regalia, furniture, and artifacts. The museum provides context on Asante political structure, military organization, and cultural sophistication. Visiting Kumasi offers insight into one of Africa's most powerful pre-colonial kingdoms. The city is also known for Kejetia Market, one of West Africa's largest markets.
