Sibebe Rock

Granite inselberg (mountain), 1,488m peak, hiking trail, panoramic views over Eswatini, cultural significance.

Sibebe Rock is the second-largest exposed granite inselberg in the world (after Gibraltar Rock, South Africa). A hiking trail ascends from the base to the 1,488m summit in 1-2 hours (moderate fitness required). The route climbs exposed granite with chain sections for safety. Views from the top encompass much of Eswatini, spreading valleys and mountains in all directions. The rock is culturally significant to the Swazi people. A cultural guide available at the base provides context on geology and indigenous history. Sunrise or sunset hikes are magical. Admission is 80-100 SZL; guides are 100-200 SZL. Located 20 km east of Mbabane; easily accessed from the capital as a half-day or full-day outing.
