Mbabane & Central Eswatini
Capital city, markets, restaurants, museums, craft shops, nearby mountain hiking, Sibebe Rock viewpoint.
Mbabane is Eswatini's administrative capital (though Lobamba is the royal/legislative seat). The city (70,000 people) has good restaurants, craft markets, and modern services. The Eswatini Museum covers national history and Swazi heritage. Local craft markets sell beadwork, textiles, and wood carvings. Nightlife is modest but welcoming. The city is set amid mountains; hiking trails and scenic viewpoints are nearby (Sibebe Rock, Dlangeni Trail). Accommodation ranges from budget hostels (50-100 SZL/night) to mid-range hotels (200-400 SZL/night). Mbabane is the logical entry/exit point and a day or half-day stop for city exploration and logistics.
