The Congo River waterfront is the heart of the city: bustling markets, boat traffic, and the daily pulse of life.
The Congo River waterfront stretches for kilometers. Zaire Market (Marche du Zaire) is chaotic and alive, selling everything from fish to smuggled goods. Boat traffic is constant. Sunset views are dramatic. The atmosphere is intense and sometimes unsafe; go with a local guide or hotel staff. Early evening is best. This is raw Kinshasa: no filtering.
