Mount Heha
Burundi's highest peak at 2,670m with panoramic highland views and cool mountain air.
Mount Heha stands in Bururi Province in the southern highlands. A day hike from the nearby town of Bururi reaches the summit, offering 360-degree views across the highlands and into Rwanda. The cooler climate at elevation provides respite from the heat. Local guides are essential and relatively inexpensive. The surrounding forest area is home to rare bird species and traditional Burundian medicine plants.
