Lake Tanganyika
Africa's second-largest freshwater lake offering beach relaxation, fishing villages, and sunset views.
Lake Tanganyika stretches over 650 kilometers across the Rift Valley, shared by four countries. On Burundi's western edge, the lake near Bujumbura offers public beaches, local fishing boats, and small waterfront restaurants. The water is warm year-round and safe for swimming. Sunset views are spectacular. Local boat tours can be arranged; early mornings reveal fishermen using traditional nets.
