Chobe National Park (11,700 sq km) is Botswana's largest and most popular park, centered on the Chobe River in the north. Elephant populations are massive (40,000+ during wet season); boat cruises along the river offer close wildlife viewing. Savanna, riverine forest, and swampland provide diverse habitat. Kasane town (gateway) is on the Zambezi tripoint (Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe), making it a regional hub. Access is self-drive from Kasane or guided lodge safaris. River cruises (200-400 BWP) are popular afternoon activities. Accommodation ranges from budget backpacker lodges (80-150 BWP/night) to mid-range safari lodges (600-1,200 BWP/night) to luxury riverfront camps. Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe, 60 km away) is a day trip from Kasane. Best season: May-September (cool, dry, elephants concentrated). Rainy season (November-March) is green but hotter and fewer tourists.
