Tipasa Roman Ruins

Coastal Greco-Roman settlement with well-preserved mosaics and temples overlooking Mediterranean.

About 70 km west of Algiers, Tipasa sits on a clifftop with dramatic sea views. The site includes temples, a Roman theater, and residential quarters with intact mosaics depicting daily life. A UNESCO World Heritage site, it offers insight into North African Roman civilization. The museum on-site houses artifacts from excavations. Best visited in spring or autumn when cooler.
