Facilitated by indigenous-rights-aware operators, a visit to a Baka community in the Dja forest is structured around forest knowledge: edible and medicinal plants, traditional net hunting techniques, fire-making, and the oral history sessions called esimo. The community receives a direct contribution from the visit fee, negotiated by the Baka leadership.
Did you know
The Baka oral history sessions (esimo) integrate plant medicine knowledge, net-hunting technique, and ancestral stories in a single structured sitting, considered a complete knowledge transfer system.
